Call forwarding codes for every Greek carrier

Published:

Pick your carrier, your line and what you want to do — the code is ready to copy or dial, exactly as your carrier publishes it.

How to dial the code

The code is not a call to anyone — it is a command to the network. That is why it needs no app, no shop visit and no call to customer service.

  • Mobile. Open the dialling screen, type the code exactly as shown — with the destination number in place of the word “number” — and press the call key. The network answers with a confirmation message on screen.
  • Landline. Lift the handset and, with the line open, dial the code — on Vodafone you also press the call key, as on a mobile. On Cosmote / OTE the service has to be activated first, in the Telekom App, My Telekom, on 13888 or in a shop.
  • One Net / ISDN. On Vodafone One Net the codes end in two asterisks instead of a hash and are entered from the IP handset or set in the cloud PBX; if you run your own PBX, your equipment’s settings apply. Nova ISDN lines use different codes (*22*, *63*, *68*), listed in their own table below.

All the codes, carrier by carrier

The tables are generated from the same data the tool uses, so the two can never disagree. In place of the word “number” (or “forwarding number”) put the number you want calls to go to. Under each table you will find what to watch out for, the carrier’s source page and when it was checked.

  • On Cosmote, forwarding to voicemail is switched on automatically when you sign up, and it covers all three conditional forwards.
  • The safest fix is to wipe everything with ##002# and set up again only the forwards you actually want.
  • If the provider has locked the setting permanently, only customer service can remove it.

Switched off or out of coverageThe *62* code (switched off or out of coverage) does not apply to landlines: Telekom offers only immediate forwarding, forwarding when you don't answer and forwarding when you're on a call.

  • Check. Telekom's landline article gives no check code.
  • Ring time (When you do not answer). Your phone rings 3-5 times before the call is forwarded.
  • The service is provided on request: activate it first in the Telekom App, My Telekom, 13888 or a shop, then dial the command with the line open.
  • If outgoing-call barring is active you also need your PIN: *61*PIN*number# to set it and #61*PIN# to cancel.

  • Ring time (When you do not answer). Vodafone does not say what the default ring time is on mobile, so run a quick test: call your number from another phone and count how many seconds pass before the call is forwarded.
  • Vodafone notes that voicemail is provided to all subscribers free of charge. You can switch it on or off by calling 1285 (free) and pressing 3.
  • If you set a 'when you do not answer' forward but calls still land in voicemail, an existing forward to voicemail is getting in first.
  • Remember that while the unconditional forward is active it overrides all the others.

What to watch out for

Voicemail gets in first

A forward to voicemail may already be active from day one, without you setting it: Cosmote says it is switched on automatically when you sign up, and on Vodafone you switch it off by calling 1285 and pressing 3. If you set a “when you do not answer” forward and calls still land in voicemail, that is why. In detail: call forwarding on COSMOTE, call forwarding on Vodafone. If your patients hang up at voicemail without leaving a message, an AI receptionist for your practice answers those calls and books the appointment in your calendar.

##002# wipes everything

On Cosmote, Vodafone and Nova mobiles, ##002# cancels every forward in one go — handy when you do not know what is active, but it also removes the ones you wanted to keep. On Vodafone One Net the equivalent code is **24**. The carriers do not list it for landlines: there you switch each forward off separately. Step by step: how to turn off call forwarding.

The forwarded leg is charged

Activation is free — OTE and Nova say so explicitly for landlines — but the call from your line to the forwarding number is charged to you as an outgoing call, at your price list’s rates, and it is paid by whoever set the forward, not by the caller. In detail: what call forwarding costs. The charge is only worth paying if someone answers at the other end: an AI call center for your business can take the calls you cannot, keep the message or book the appointment.

Where Parousa fits in

Forwarding moves the call — it does not answer it. If nobody picks up at the other end, you have simply moved the problem to a second voicemail. When the call ends at a telephone answering service, though, the caller hears a voice and can leave a message or book an appointment.

That is what we are building at Parousa: an AI receptionist that answers in Greek, takes messages and books appointments. You set a “when you do not answer” and a “when you are busy” forward to her line, with the codes on this page, and your number stays the same. We are still pre-launch — leave your email and we will let you know as soon as the first spots open up.

Frequently asked questions

Which code do I use for missed calls?

The “when you do not answer” code: *61*number# on Cosmote, *61*forwarding number# on Vodafone and **61*forwarding number# on Nova, where the single-asterisk form works too. Your phone rings first and the call leaves only if you do not pick up — on Nova after 20 seconds, unless you set a different time.

Do the codes work on landlines?

Yes, the main ones: *21*, *61* and *67* apply on Cosmote / OTE, Vodafone and Nova landlines, and you dial them with the line open. *62* (switched off or out of coverage) does not exist on landlines, and on Cosmote / OTE the service has to be activated first — in the Telekom App, My Telekom, on 13888 or in a shop.

How do I see which forward is active?

With the check codes: *#21# for the unconditional forward, *#61# for “when you do not answer”, *#67# for “when you are busy” and *#62# for a switched-off phone. Dial the code and the screen tells you whether that forward is active and where it sends calls. Cosmote and Vodafone publish no check code for landlines, nor Vodafone for One Net — so run the real test: call your number from another phone and see where the call ends up.

How do I cancel every forward at once?

On a mobile, with ##002#: it cancels every forward in one go on Cosmote, Vodafone and Nova. On Vodafone One Net the equivalent code is **24**. For landlines and ISDN no bulk code is published — switch each forward off separately with its own deactivation code from the table.

Does call forwarding cost anything?

Activating it does not: on landlines OTE provides the service free and Nova says it carries no monthly fee. What is charged is the leg from your line to the forwarding number, like an outgoing call — and it is paid by whoever set the forward, not by the caller. In detail: what call forwarding costs.

What about One Net and ISDN?

On Vodafone One Net, Vodafone’s cloud PBX, the codes end in two asterisks — *21*number** to activate, **21** to deactivate, **24** for all at once — and the classic codes do not apply. On Nova ISDN lines the codes are *22*, *63* and *68*, deactivated with #22#, #63#, #68# and checked with *#22#, *#63#, *#68#. Both tables are above.
