Parousa — AI phone reception

Greek AI voice agent for hotels, guesthouses and rooms to let

A ready-made Greek AI voice agent for small properties: it answers the calls nobody is at the desk to take — in Greek, and in English when the guest needs it — and records the booking request in your calendar.

What it does for a small property in Greece

In a small Greek property the front desk is rarely a separate shift: the same person checks a guest in, turns the rooms and drives out for supplies. The phone keeps its own timetable — it rings mid-arrival, during housekeeping, and close to midnight, when somebody planning a trip wants to know whether the double is free.

A traveller who gets no answer rarely calls back; they try the next property on their list. The agent takes that call instead of the voicemail: it greets in natural Greek, answers check-in times, directions from the port or the airport and parking, and takes the booking request in full. A group rate or an awkward late arrival becomes a message.

Greek first, English the moment your guest needs it

Many calls to a Greek property are not in Greek, and they land at the worst hours: a guest who has just cleared the airport and is looking for the road, a family wanting to leave luggage early. The agent answers in Greek and continues in English the moment the caller switches — same call, without dropping the request it was taking.

Greek is the harder half. Names decline — «ο κύριος Παπαδόπουλος» becomes «του κυρίου Παπαδόπουλου» a sentence later — and callers dictate a mobile in pairs, «εξήντα εννιά, δεκατέσσερα…», not digit by digit. Get that wrong and the request waiting in the morning is unusable; the Greek AI voice agent overview covers why that is product work, not a setting.

How it connects: forwarding, nothing installed

You keep the number on your sign and in your listings. Connecting is call forwarding, which every Greek carrier supports:

  • Unconditional — every call goes to the agent.
  • Conditional — it answers only on a busy line, after a few unanswered rings, or outside the hours somebody is at the desk.

No new number, no device, no technician, and reversible at any time.

What it books

The agent is deliberately conservative about what it settles alone:

  • The booking request, in full. Dates, guests, room type, name and callback number — written into your calendar during the call, with a notification to you.
  • The confirmation stays with you. It records the request; you confirm the room. Rates and availability judgement remain yours.
  • The routine questions — check-in, directions, parking — in Greek or English.
  • A message when a person is needed, with the name and the number.

What an unanswered call can be worth — an illustrative example

Nobody can tell you the real figure for your property, but arithmetic shows the order of magnitude. Say two calls a day in a peak month that nobody was free to take, an average booking worth €150, thirty days, and four in ten of those callers booking elsewhere rather than trying again: roughly 24 bookings, about €3,600 for the month. All four numbers are illustrative assumptions — not measurements, and not data from our customers. Change them one at a time in the missed calls calculator.

EU compliance, built in

  • GDPR. Call data is stored in the European Union and used only to serve the call and manage the booking request (privacy policy).
  • EU AI Act transparency. Article 50 requires that people are told when they are speaking to an AI system, so the agent introduces itself as the property’s digital assistant and never claims to be a person.

Frequently asked questions

Does it handle guests who do not speak Greek?

Yes. It answers in natural Greek and continues in English as soon as the caller uses it, inside the same call — directions, check-in times and the booking request in the language the guest speaks.

Can it confirm a room booking on its own?

No, and that is deliberate. It records the request in full — dates, guests, room type, name and number — writes it into your calendar and notifies you. Confirming the room stays with you.

Does the property need a new number or any equipment?

No. You keep the number on your sign and in your listings. A call forward sends the agent every call, or only the ones nobody picks up.

Where is the call data kept?

In the European Union, used only to serve the call and manage the booking request, in line with GDPR. The agent also introduces itself as a digital assistant on every call, as Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires.
